Dr. Shirley Wei MD Ph.D Reproductive Medicine

Dr. Wei has been deeply involved in the field of reproductive medicine for more than 30 years. He has successively served as a researcher at the Center for Infertility and Reproductive Medicine at New York Medical College at Cornell University, a researcher at the Department of Genetics at Columbia University, and a judge at the Test Tube Center of the National Health Administration of the Taiwan Ministry of Health and Welfare. The first case in Taiwan Three generations of test tube practitioners. In 2006, it began to innovate and incorporate functional medicine into healthy pregnancy preparation. Through systematic pregnancy preparation and preconception conditioning (egg conditioning), she improves the quality of women’s eggs, thereby increasing the success rate of IVF and baby delivery. After more than ten years of practice, her 4-pronged strategy of eating well, sleeping well, exercising well, and mental wellness have served many mothers-to-be in pregnancy preparation and egg conditioning. Practicing the advanced concept of “healthy mothers for healthy babies” to avoid the common issue of non-usable embryos in 3rd Gen IVFs. Which also avoids underdeveloped embryos with as well as fetal anomaly rate.

Dr. Wei has maintained a strong academic competitiveness in the international field of reproduction, actively participating in the promotion and development of the discipline of reproductive endocrinology. Constantly exploring new treatment methods to help patients solve problems in her practice. The Academic research on the difference between human metabolic assessment standards and Westerners and East Asians, the relationship between sports nutrition psychology and metabolic changes, and the relationship between Chinese diet structure changes and the increased incidence of polycystic ovaries. Dr Wei has successfully dealt with many complex infertility cases, including repeated implant failure, advanced age, repeated miscarriage, chromosomal abnormalities, severe male factor, infertility complicated with endometrial cancer, infertility complicated with breast cancer, etc. She has been invited and chaired many international reproductive medicine conferences, published many articles in reproductive -related international journals, and served as the main reviewer for several cutting-edge reproductive endocrinology journals, such as the Journal of the American Society of Infertility Medicine Polycystic Ovarian syndrome paper review, American College of Obstetrics and Gynecology journal paper review, etc. As a well-known IVF doctor on both sides of the Taiwan Strait, Dr. Wei utilize her extensive medical knowledge and rich clinical experience, to help patients on both sides of the Taiwan Strait, solving many difficult cases.

Dr. Alfred Wun

Dr. Wan-Song A Wun is our Chief Laboratory Technician. He works with our Reproductive Endocrinologist to help our patients reach their fertility goals in our center. Dr. Wan-Song “Alfred” Wun has over 35 years of experience in the field of Assisted Reproductive Technology (ART), ensuring the highest quality clinical procedures and outcomes for Dr. Wei IVF Center.

Dr. Wun graduated from the University of Texas Health Science Center Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences with a Ph.D. Received a doctorate in reproductive medicine in 1982. He also holds a Master of Science in Physiology and a Bachelor of Science in Zoology from National Taiwan University.

In 1995, Dr. Wun became one of the first pioneer embryologists/scientists to be certified as a High Complexity Clinical Laboratory Director (HCLD) by the American Board of Bioanalysis (ABB). He is also certified by ABB as Andrology Laboratory Director (ALD), Embryology Laboratory Director (ELD) and Clinical Consultant (CC).

Dr. Wun began his career in 1984 as an Assistant Professor and Director of the IVF Laboratory at Tulane University after receiving a Postdoctoral Fellowship in Reproductive Medicine.

From there, he teamed up with Houston-area reproductive endocrinologists to build a premier fertility practice. There, he designed the ART laboratory, wrote the protocol, trained technicians, implemented a quality management program and obtained safety certification. During this time, Dr. Wun also published over 100 journal articles and abstracts, and frequently presented research at national and international scientific conferences. His constant search for improvement and publication earned him a Star Award from the prestigious American Society for Reproductive Medicine in 2018 and 2019.
